Seoul Trip: Tony Moly

Tony Moly is definitely up there with Apieu when I comes to cute packaging and concepts, I mean look at the octopus scrub stick! However, upon entering the shop I wasn’t entirely impressed by the selection that they had, most of their products can be found in their Hong Kong stores or even in Bonjour for around the same prices… so we didn’t end up buying too much there. There also seems to be a trend in the capsule ampoules, when looking at some other brands, they also have similar ampoules which target skincare needs.

Autumn Style Inspiration

Screen Shot 2016-10-22 at 2.20.32 pm.png

Autumn, definitely is my favourite season of the year, the crisp air, piles of leaves and the cooler days. However, I am always a little unsure about what to wear during this season… Hong Kong’s weather has been a little wishy washy, hot and humid days or sometimes a more cooler windy days, the weather has been anything but consistent.

I have put together a little style inspiration for myself, with pieces that I think are a little different for me, yet casual, because I am all about comfortable and casual wear. After putting together this “outfit inspiration board” I thought I would share it with you, maybe you could a get a few ideas from it too?

Backpack: Mischa Classic Black Backpack

I love the monochrome look to this backpack, because it is a backpack you don’t have to worry about the pattern  clashing with your outfit, but you will still have the boldness at the back. Plus unzip it and find a surprise… bright red interior!

Denim skirt: 6ixty 8ight A-line Denim Skirt

Denim skirts… they are everywhere right now. You might have sighed at the sight of another one, but if you forget the trend you will find that they are really a timeless piece that can be worn with everything and in any season.

Bomber Jacket: Reversible embroidered bomber

I am definitely pro anything reversible, I mean if it gives me more space to do some more shopping? Yass!  Plus the jacket is versitile and the dusty pink colour is unique in itself.

Floral Dress: Forever 21 Floral print maxi

I love the look of maxi dresses in the autumn, pair them together with booties and a leather jacket and you have an instant autumnal look (add a hat if you want). I think that maxi dresses can be worn both through summer and autumn!

Leather Jacket: Missguided Suedette Bonded Biker

What can I say, a baby. blue. biker. jacket!

Knit Dress: ASOS 2 in 1 Knit Dress In Cashmere Mix

A winter & Autumn staple. Pair with a leather jacket and stockings if it gets extra chilly.

High waisted Jeans: Tommy x Gigi High waist Denim Jeans

Tommy x Gigi’s collaboration line is just amazing! Simple yet fashionable. I love their high waisted denim jeans as well as the balance between high waisted jeans and slightly cropped cable knit, it immediately makes you look like you have legs that go on forever.

Slip-Ons: Paperplanes Woven Tall Up Slip-Ons

Paperplanes, another korean shoe brand that I have been loving! Their shoes are relatively affordable and the simple details, in this case the woven details are so autumnal and chic.

Booties: Rag&Co Carla Boots

I am definitely picky when it comes to boots, I’m not really a fan of pointed leather boot look, and I like the idea of mixing two materials with out being too bold. Subtle. casual. unique.

Hope you liked this out of the box post.

June 2016 Favourites + summer essentials

Screen Shot 2016-07-01 at 1.04.09 am.png

It’s that time again for June favourites. There have been quite a few products that I really stood out to me and I have found my self reaching for them quite frequently. I think that a lot of the time there is a lot of emphasis on caring for your skin in the winter but the only ever skincare product that is most prominently used in summer, is sunscreen. Sure, sunscreen is a key product but caring for the skin after it has been in the harsh sun is super important as well.

St. Ives Even and Bright Scrub

St.Ives scrubs are my absolute favourite scrubs to use I have found them to be key in a deep exfoliation and with their new release of the pink lemon and mandarin orange scrub I had to high hopes.

The scrub is very light and I would compare the exfoliation to be similar to the Laura Mercier face polish and the Murad AHA/BHA scrub. The exfoliating beads are fine but fine enough to get in the curves of your face. Plus the pink lemonade scent is amazing in the morning.

I always find that after using it, my skin is brighter and more refined.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing oil to foam

This is also another new discovery for me. The cleanser is a 2 in 1 formula, the product without added water acts as a cleansing oil which works wonders on removing makeup. When water is added to the product, the cleansing oil when rubbed together in your hands/face starts to foam up providing a deep clean.

The scent itself is one of my favourites, a light fruity and floral scent. At first I was worried about the cleanser leaving my skin”squeaky” clean but it doesn’t at all! It leaves your skin feeling super hydrated, refreshed, supple and clean all at the same time. I highly recommend you give it a try.

Pantene BB creme

The Pantene is a oldie but a goodie. I have been using this product on and off for 2 years now after discovering its 7 in 1 properties, how amazing it both smells and leaves my hair feeling.

The “BB creme” has a light creamy consistency which is amazing on both dry and wet hair. I personally find that my hair absorbs the product better when it is damp as it acts as a leave in conditioner. It is amazing for smoothing over dry ends!

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

I personally really hate the feeling of applying moisturizer during the summer when it feels super sticky in the humid and hot weather. The rich butter/lotions seem unnecessary.

Lately, I have been loving using gels instead especially this on from Nature republic which only costed around HKD$29! You would think that applying a gel would also be sticky but the gel has a cooling and refreshing (after sun) feeling when applied to the skin. The skin just drinks up the gel leaving your legs and arms looking smooth and shiny (and non-sticky).

Laneige Water Sleeping pack

It might seem to be counter-acting what I said about the sticky feeling you get from rich moisturisers. However, in the summer, especially here in Hong Kong, the aircons are usually on full blast in shopping malls or even while we sleep. I have often found my skin feeling super dry upon waking up.

I have personally been using sleeping masks to act as a barrier to hydrate my skin from the drying air conditioner. The Laniege water sleeping pack has a gel/jelly like consistency which melts on the skin. I like to slather a pea size amount onto my skin (enough to cover it in a light layer). Whereas in the winter I like to be fairly generous and apply a thick layer. It has a soothing and deeply hydrating feeling that feels amazing after a day in the sun.

A black shoulder purse

This is a staple in my closet during the summer.  I like to carry around as little as possible as if you ask anyone in my family or friends… I have a tendency to overpack or carry unnecessary items.

It goes with almost any outfit and fits everything you need… emphasis on need. If you shop around Primark you are sure to fund a variety of these small bags that are super affordable.

Its time for a new Hair inspiration post on the blog! After finally managing to do successfully do a french braid on myself, I think it is time that I challenge myself. With spring about a month and a half away, I am already excited for the warmer days and eventually summer. Too early? Nah.

Inspobyelvirall’s feed is dotted with beautiful braids, some of which remind me of Rapunzel’s hair. Not only is it a great feed for different braids you can also get some inspiration for some outfit ideas.

My Wardrobe Essentials

So, I decided to compile a list of my wardrobe essentials, that I personally love, so I hope you enjoy it!

Screen Shot 2016-01-05 at 15.07.15.png

I have to say that a deep red, such as burgundy and maroon are one of my favorite colours to wear during any season, because it basically compliments every piece in my wardrobe.

Screen Shot 2016-01-05 at 14.42.00.png

I have to say, that I am obsessed with blazer like outerwear. I think it makes any outfit look put together. Plus, you can dress it up or down, which makes it an essential piece in my closet.

Screen Shot 2016-01-05 at 15.25.28.png

I usually go with something simplistic for my bottoms in my wardrobe, just because I like to experiment with jackets and tops, so having something simple makes it a whole lot better. So, these are a few of my favourite pieces.

Screen Shot 2016-02-07 at 10.30.32.png

I have to say that I prefer flats over heels, just because they’re more comfortable than heals in my opinion. Also, you can see that I do love my crochet designed shoes.

Screen Shot 2016-01-05 at 14.27.09

For me, I prefer simplistic accessories, such as block coloured scarves and hats, but don’t get me wrong, I do love my fair share of patterned scarves.

Screen Shot 2016-01-05 at 14.50.30.pngI think jewelry really adds something unique to an outfit. Although, I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, I have some core pieces that I make an effort of wearing.

So, there they are! These are my wardrobe essentials. I hope you enjoyed it, but remember that my style may be different to yours, so your essentials may be different from mine, but I hope it gave you inspiration in some way.
