My Search: For the Best Chocolate Milk (Part 1)

Although, this might seem like a weird thing to search for, I’ve seen people search for the best donuts, cupcakes etc. However, I thought to heck with that, chocolate milk is a staple for me and I practically live off the stuff!

Before we get onto the the drinks… Here are some pictures of the day.  If you wish to see which drinks I tried, skip to the bottom 🙂

After heading out on Friday to get on with some tasks I decided to try out two different chocolate milks/drinks. One of them, the organic valley chocolate, I bought form Welcome shop in Causeway bay and the other was purchased in Dudes located in Sharp street east, they are both hugely different in taste and cost!

Here is the criteria for these taste tests:

Creaminess, chocolateyness (yes that is a word I use, don’t judge ;p ), ingredients, size and price.

I was extremely disappointed with this one, it was ok in price but the taste was horrible! It was way too sweet and there was a strong synthetic chocolate taste, something I would call a “fake chocolate taste”. The ingredients were horrible too, including flavourings, whey protein, soy, caramel colouring etc. Would definitely not recommend it to anyone… now that I think of it I don’t think it even deserves one bar of chocolate.

I must admit I bought this on a whim, I didn’t realise it was $23 for this small carton after looking at the receipt. I had a minor heart attack so I thought that it must be worth the price. It had pretty good ingredients and boasts that they did not use any pesticides, hormones etc. It was super creamy but it became a little bit too much after a few sips, the chocolate taste wasn’t amazing but if you were craving a milkshake this would be alright. I wonder what it would be like to drink it cold? Let me know if you have tried this.

After a rather disappointing taste test I must admit I am still determined about finding the best chocolate milk there is.

If you have any suggestions on what you think the best chocolate milk is, let me know and I will do further investigations into my weird obsession with chocolate milk.
