1 Brand 3 products: Vichy

I have been using Vichy products for quite some time, but the products that I have used from this brand were mainly cleansers and face mists. So, I decided to branch out and try something new and spoiler alert they are all great!

The first product I picked up was the Double Glow Peel Mask. At first I was a bit skeptical, but I thought I would just give it a try anyways. I was so surprise, after massaging this into my skin, I found there was a really nice mild peeling occurring. It wasn’t too abrasive, which peeling mask can be, but it felt like it was cleaning my skin up from all the dirt laying on my skin. It’s also a lot different in comparison to other peeling gels, where you immediately massage your skin, but this product requires you to wait 5 minutes before massaging it, and I will say that 5 minutes do make a difference. I addition to that, every Vichy product has its own distinctive lovely smell. With this one, it reminded me of sweets and flower, as if it was a perfume, which I love.

The new product I picked up was the Aqualia Thermal Light Cream. I thoroughly enjoyed this product a lot, even after 1 use, and it is because of the texture of the cream and how my skin feels after using it. It is an incredible day cream, that leaves your skin a lot softer then it was seconds before applying it, and I found that the product fully absorbed into my skin seconds after applying it, without leaving a stickiness to my skin. It is genuinely my perfect day cream, as of right now. In terms of scent, it is a lot milder than the peeling gel. The best way I can describe it, is that it smells like laundry detergent ( the good kind) and flowers combined.

The last product I picked up was the Quenching Mineral Mask. It’s a super hydrating, water base mask, that doesn’t require you to leave it on for 10 or 20 minutes or wash it off afterwards. I like to use it at night and my skin love this mask, it immediately absorbs it in. I like that it’s a light mask, that doesn’t leave you skin kind of sticky, unless you wash it off afterwards. It’s definitely a lot lighter, but just as hydrating as other moisture masks, which is perfect as of right now, with the autumn weather not being to drying nor being to humid. As for the smell, it basically smells like aloe vera and cucumbers combined, it’s so refreshing!

So, those are my three Vichy products that I picked up, I hope you enjoyed the post and found one or two products that you want to try!

Korean Skincare Haul

20160619_134605

I’ve always been a fan of Korean skincare, the packaging, unique ingredients and products. It was a no brainer that once I was back in Hong Kong, me and my wallet was headed towards colourmix and SaSa. Although Korean skincare is gaining interest in the UK, Korean skincare is everywhere.

Processed with VSCO

If you are looking for a good deal, in most beauty stores in Hong Kong, skincare sets allow you to try a variety of products from the range without having to commit to a full size. This set was definitely a gem of a find, valued at $500 but was on sale for only $85!

BRTC Gold caviar bb cream set came with:

  • a gold caviar BB cream -> Whitening, SPF 50+, hydrating, UV and antiaging
  • ampoule essence -> provide nutrients, rich, moisturising, calming and soothing
  • ampoule cream -> Contains SPF37, whitening, concealer, brightening and nourishing.
  • edelweiss stem cell mask (x1) -> 100% natural and biodegradable. Moisturising and replenishes rough dry skin. Provides energy, softer and a more vibrant complexion.

Cliv Anti-wrinkle & moisturising– Collagen resurgence gift set

Cliv has a great reputation within Korea for their professional/high quality and targeting skincare range. Here in HK they are now being introduced through colourmix and SaSa through their ampoules and the occasional gift set. However, these gift sets aren’t always in stock so when you see them in stock try to get your hands on them (psst: because gift set ampoules are full size and can cost $$$ if bought individually).

LG Yungao Hair Cleansing treatment

LG is definitely isn’t a brand you would associate with haircare and beauty but it seems that they have launched a new hair care range infusing Korean herbal treatment into shampoo. The shampoo claims to hydrate, deep cleanse (reduce dandruff), prevent hair- loss and strengthen hair.

My beauty diary strawberry Yogurt Mask from one of my favourite facial mask brands “my beauty diary”. My beauty diary’s masks are always super soothing on the skin, each mask is catered to a certain skincare issue and it the masks are richly coated in concentrated serum. Plus strawberry yogurt flavour? yum!

Land Museum Tinted BB cream (동백섬사링도)

When I tried it in store (Aland) it had creamy/velvety medium coverage, light fragrance, hydrating and corrected any pigmentation on my skin. Haul: The Body Shop

I am so excited to do this blog post, because I love hauls and trying new products. So, you probably know where I shopped from the title and it is The Body Shop. I’m so excited to show you what I picked up. I’ve just picked these products up. So, I can’t give you a review of them, but I will update you on how these products went.

vsco-photo-1-6.jpg

I picked an assortment of products from different lines from The Body Shop. So, here they are…

The first group of products are from the Tea Tree line. I picked up 3 products from this line and I can’t wait to try it.

vsco-photo-2-5.jpg

I picked up the skin clearing mattifying toner, because I was running low on my current joseristine acne skin tonic toner. Which was a good toner, but I wanted to try something new, so I picked this up .

The next product was the squeaky clean scrub. I was super interested in a tea tree scrub, as I haven’t tried something like this before. So, I hope it does purify my skin and leave it squeaky clean.

The last product from the tea tree line is the mattifying lotion, which I wouldn’t say I have oily skin, but during the summer, my skin does get a little shiny, so hopefully it helps with that.

The next product I picked up was from the drops of youth line. I am honestly super excited about this product, because it does seem like a hyped up product, so I wanted to see what the hype was all about. The product I picked up was the youth essence-lotion.

vsco-photo-5-1.jpg

I got a cleanser from the pomegranate line, as again I am running low on my cleanser which is the first aid beauty cleanser. So, keep a look out for that in my empties post in the future.

My last product I picked up was the Mineral and Ginger warming massage clay mask. I did try this product and it is definitely warm on the skin, especially after massaging it in. When washing this product off of my skin, my skin felt so clean and refreshed, so I was super happy with this product. Plus, it is perfect for those who hate leaving a mask on for a long period of time, you just leave it on for 5 minutes and your done!vsco-photo-4-2.jpg

So, those are my products that I picked up from The Body Shop. I hope you enjoyed it and maybe it temped you into going shopping, oops, haha. If it did, go check them out if you like and I will keep you updated.

A KIKO Skincare Haul

When mentioning KIKO, the first thing that came to mind was their cosmetics, there seems to be a buzz around the YouTube Community with regards to their eyeshadows with many of them being dupes for more higher end products. However, I have yet to hear much about their skin care products, so I thought I would give it a try.

KIKO has always been a brand that I have kept an eye out for and with its new Hong Kong store which has opened in Times Square (causeway-bay), I have been eagerly waiting to try their skincare after hearing how affordable and great quality their products are.

Pure Clean Powder

Powder exfoliating cleansers seem to be popping up all over the UK with baking soda cleanser from Biore’s baking soda cleansing scrub to KIKO, it seems that this might be a new trend in the coming few months.

First Impression: The cleansing powder comes out like baking powder, add a few drops of water and it becomes a smooth cleansing water with exfoliating beads to help act as a gentle scrub for the skin. Although the product says that it will foam once it comes into contact with water however, among my first impression of it, there doesn’t seem foam. However, I will give it a try and post a full review on the blog very soon.

KIKO’s Masks

Directions: apply on a freshly cleansed face and leave for 10-15 minutes and wash off.

Sublime Youth Mask £9.90

What drew me to choosing this mask was it’s ingredients especially retinol. There has been a growing interest in the ingredient with it being linked to anti-aging and wrinkle prevention but most products containing retinol come with a higher price tag.  It has a thick, smooth and creamy texture with a light floral perfume like scent .

Hydra Pro Mask £8.90

The key ingredient in this mask is hyaluronic acid which an ingredient which special Has a more watery gel like consistency, fresh floral (jasmine) scent which is not overpowering.

Bright Lift Mask £8.90

Marine Collagen which specialises in lifting, reducing fatigue leaving a more plumped and youthful look. It is a light weight formula with barely any fragrance which fades with time.

KIKO 30 day Night treatment Mascara (got the boxes mixed up in the photos!)

A gel like formula that you apply on your lashes at night time. It does have a slight scent

First impressions: A light formula that you apply one coat on both the top and bottom lashes. Although the wand is effective for separating the lashes, the spikes are quite rough so be careful when applying the treatment close to your lash roots.

Once applied it doesn’t leave your lashes hard but leave them super soft especially in the morning. Updates coming soon but, so far I have been loving it.

KIKO 30 days Daily Treatment (got the boxes mixed up in the photos!)

This daily treatment containing K2 growth serum which is a nutritional supplement aiding the growth and cycle of the lashes. The treatment has a pitch black pigment to it making it ideal for use as a mascara.

First impression: The mascara is super dark, it doesn’t leave your lashes super hard or spidery but leaves them super conditioned and quite soft. However, one of the major downsides that I found to this is that because it isn’t a waterproof formula the mascara does have a tendency to smudge/transfer quite a bit, especially in the summer/humid weather. I will keep you updated with a more in-depth review on the mascara.
