Spicing up your Stationary Collection

GetFileAttachment.jpgOne of my favourite things to buy is stationary, especially when it’s beautifully patterned or designed. It brightens up a dull day at school, uni or work, and I’m going to be honest, beautiful stationary makes me want to study more. So, here are my ways to brighten up dull, everyday stationary pieces.GetFileAttachment-1GetFileAttachment-2

Patterned Notebooks- Picking up some patterned notebooks really does brighten up your notes and a dull day at school or work. This is one of my favourite things to purchase, because there are so many designs to choose from.

Tips:  Having coloured or patterned notebooks, helps me to detect which notebook is for which subject, so I never bring the wrong book to class.

Colourful Pen- I love colour! Especially, when I’m  writing down notes. It’s a great way to draw yourself into your notes, so your more likely to study them. Plus, there are so many pens with beautiful patterns on them, which are hard to resist.

Tip: It’s a great way to colour code your notes and emphasis certain thingss that are more important.

Quirky pencils- Finding unique pencils are quite difficult, but when you find them, their pretty cool. I love these ones that I picked up, they add a pop of colour to any pencil case.

Unique rubbers/Erasers- Lastly, rubbers, I love finding cool rubbers, like these mustache ones from Accessorize, but be careful, some cool rubbers don’t work so well, so try to find one that do.

So, here are some of my favourite pieces in my stationary collection and hopefully it inspires you to add a pop of colour or design to your stationary collection.

Yves Rocher: Mini Haul + Review

After intensely studying in the library these past two weeks and re-adjusting to the time difference (8hours), my skin has been really terrible! I’ve found that I have been breaking out more and my skin is extremely dry. My family and I have been using the “Pure system” for about a year and a half and we love it (so much that we have had a little influence on our aunt who is now using the line daily).

After my skin started breaking out I decided to purchase some of my holy grails to save my skin. Conveniently Yves Rocher was and still is having a huge sale! Here is what I purchased:

20160126_220106-1

I Purify My Skin set: Cleanser, Toner + FREE head band (53% off) £8.90

Serum Vegetal Discovery set (7 day program) (29% off) £3.99

and I got to choose out of 10 gifts what I wanted and I chose the

Elixir 7.9 Youth reactivating Day cream (Originally £36) FREE

20160126_215536-1

In total I spent about £12.89 on 2 sets and got 1 free gift and 2 mini sample sachets.
The Pure system set, came with a cleanser that contains micro beads inside that allow for a gentle exfoliation and a orangey colour. A little goes a long way with this, I use just a pea size amount and apply it to both my neck and face in circular motions. The product it self is so soothing on the skin and your skin doesn’t feel “squeaky” clean from the dryness but with the ingredient of Aloe, it is super soothing and reduces skin redness.

Key ingredients used in the “pure system”:

  • Salicylic acid – which really helps in skin renewal, preventing the pores from clogging and clears your skin
  • Aloe Vera – known for its reparative qualities as well as soothing and hydrating the skin
  • + Soap Free!

The toner, it definitely has a unique texture to it, with a sort of gel like consistency which melts into your skin. It has a light scent of fresh aloe vera which is super soothing on your skin. My skin really soaks up the toner within a few minutes.

20160126_215752-1.jpg

The Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 Day cream is an amazing product and I feel it is a luxurous product, at £36 it isn’t a cheap product but I am so glad that I got to give it a try though their 10 gifts promotion (if you buy from their online shop you can choose between 10 products to try for free).

Key ingredients in it:

This feels so luxurious on your skin, super smooth and not sticky. It feels amazing when you apply it, soothing any skin redness or irritation. It is also immediately absorbed into your skin, my skin feels super plump after using it. The lotion is also acts as a great primer under foundation. Plus it doesn’t have a scent to it (0% perfume).

The design of the bottle is pretty great too all you have to do is to twist it to the left and pump super hygienic and not too finicky. However, be careful not to drop it because it made of glass!

20160126_215934-1.jpg

The last thing I got was the Serum Vegetal 7 day Discovery set/programme. It comes with a day cream and a night cream. After falling in love with the Serum vegetal deep wrinkle expert care (Day/night) cream samples from our christmas purchases. We are eager to go buy the full size, however, I decided I wanted to try more from the range and after seeing this set on sale for £3.99 I had to give it a try, plus it is super adorable.

This is definitely different o the Elixir 7.9  lotion, the texture is definitely a lot thicker than I was expecting but it claims that in 7 days your skin will fill pronounced wrinkles, restore bounce to skin while moisturizing and protecting your skin. These are some big claims so we will have to see, currently on day 2 of this program and so far, it hasn’t been too bad, waking up is always exciting because my skin looks so plump and smooth, not sure if its from the H20 I’ve been drinking or this?

The ingredients in it are:

Screen Shot 2016-01-28 at 7.33.02 am.png

All in all, Yves Rocher has yet again impressed me with their products! My skin has definitely cleared up and acne has settled down and the redness has definitely disappeared. One thing I love about their products is how well my skin absorbs the product and how well it responds. Friends who have had super sensitive skin have used their products and haven’t had any allergic reactions. I can’t say enough about how much I love their products, highly recommend.

I hope you liked this post!

My Pamper Routine

Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 12.47.06 am

After a busy week, my skin almost always feels super grimy and congested. Although, I cleanse my face every morning and night I feel that sometimes my skin needs a little deep cleanse, to clear out all the gunk that gets stuck in our pores.

There is 5 steps to my pamper routine, cleansing, scrubbing, toning, detoxing and restoring your face (my hand was used instead of my face) . Plus if you have a little bit more time you can try my post- pamper restoration routine, where serums and ampoules come into play, maximising your skin’s absorption of nutrients.

Where to Buy BEE GOOD 2 in 1 cream :

UK (online) £11.50

I am personally using the 2 in 1 cleanser by Bee Good, although it isn’t the best to clear out your pores, it does a great job at keeping your skin moisturised and helps get rid of dirt on your skin surface.

Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 2.50.35 am.png

Where to Buy Skin Food Black Food Scrub :

HK (online + Skinfood store)

UK (online) £ 9.13

This has been in my favourites so many times, the Skin Food Black sugar mask is to DIE for! So good at getting into all the crevices and great for any blackheads on your nose Your skin will feel super soft after this.

P. S: Scrub your lips with this scrub, you will have super soft and plump lips after using. Your lips need a little pampering too! Apply Lipbalm afterwards.

Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 2.51.41 am.png

Where to Buy About Me Skin tone up :

HK (online) HK $138

UK (online) £ 20.27

This is also a holy grail product for me. The About Me Skin Tone up massage cream. It starts off a cream however, after contact with heat through massaging it melts into a oil. After you wipe the skin with a wet tissue see all the yellow dirt and pigmentation melt off! Gross but so satisfying.

Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 2.52.26 am.png

Where to Buy Carbonated Clay Mask :

HK (online) HK $55.00

UK (online)similar £10.80

This is a newbie but a goodie. This jelly like mask acts instantly once it is exposed to air, the bubbling begins in just a few seconds, wait 5 mins. It feels super odd as it tingles and tickles your face as it bubbles. Be prepared to laugh at yourself in the mirror when you go to wash it off.  Super quick Detox!

Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 2.53.10 am.png

TADA! After all 4 steps my skin feels so soft and is a little lighter from removing the layer of dead skin cells and dark pigmentation.

This is when I usually either:

  1. Put a mask on!
  2. Go straight onto my “Post-Pamper Restoration
  3. Or both!

If you have a little more time, pick a few of your favourite serums and pat it gently onto your skin.

Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 12.58.14 am

After they have been absorbed use a thick moisturising cream/gel and massage it onto your skin.

20160124_092650.jpg

20160124_09273920160124_092759

I usually sleep after doing the pamper routine and wake up with super plump, glowing skin. I also found that my foundation and concealer goes on super well the next day.

Hope you enjoyed this! Let me know if you do this or if you have your very own pamper routine?

Winter Haircare Routine

IMG_1519.JPG

It is so cold out, that I can definitely see the change in my hair, its been a little bit drier than usual and I’m guessing most of you feel it too. Fear not. I found a perfect routine that I have been using throughout the winter months and I have seen a drastic change, my hair actually feels soft and frizzless. So,  hopefully it will help you guys out, to combat that dry winter hair.

vsco-photo-1-1.jpgMarc Anthony’s Keratin Smoothing Sulfate Free Shampoo– I have been using this product consistently for that past few weeks, when the temperature dropped suddenly. It has kept my hair feeling nice and frizzless, which can happen during the winter months. Plus, the product is sulfate free, which is great for the hair.

TRESemmé Smooth Salon Silk Conditioner – I have been using TRESemmé for a long time. I think the brand workd really well on my hair, and this product is no exception. It is so nourishing and leaves my hair feeling nice and smooth, which is hard to acheive when it is freezing outside.

vsco-photo-4.jpg

Yves Rocher 48 H Smoothing Conditioner – Yes, I know it is another product that combats frizz, but that is one of the main issues during the winter months. I use this product as a mask instead of a conditioner, because it is so rich and I find it so moisturising. Also, whats great about the product is that it’s an organic product, that means it doesn’t have some odd ingredients in it and it has a faint smell, which I tend to like in the winter.

vsco-photo-3

L’oreal Extraordinary oil-  I have been using this product for a long time, because you don’t need that much, so it is definitely worth the price. I honestly love this product a lot, it is so mositurising and leaves my hair so silky and the smell is divine. I love oils that are similar to a serum and are thicker, which is why I love this product a lot and sadly I only have a little remaining, but have no fear, I have already purchased two of their newer versions of this product, because it is amazing.

Matrix Biolage Deep Smoothing Leave In Cream – I prefer leave in creams over serum products during the winter months, because I am using a richer, serum-like oil, so it kind of balances it out. This product was a fairly new purchase for me, but after trying it once, I knew this product would be perfect for the winter. It is so creamy and there’s a light smell to it, which if you read above, I prefer during the winter. It has definitely left my hair a lot more tamed and soft, which makes it a great product.

So, that’s it I hope you enjoyed it and I hope this post helped you find a product to try during the winter.
